How far in advance to send chancer email?!

Not long til my trip now, less than 4 weeks!
As many of you know, my 2 friends and I are going to DLP to celebrate our graduation and it is also Katie's birthday that week (just before we go) so we will probably get a cake and badge whilst there too.
I want to email Sequoia Lodge as others have done explaining that it is a special trip, just on the cheeky offchance they might give us a lake view or a balloon or something.
When would I be best to send the email? About a week before we go? And does anyone have the direct email address for Sequoia Lodge?

We sent them an email on 6th Sept and received a reply on 21st November. Our booking was for 24th November. I'm guessing that we sent it too early and that they review emails close to the date of arrival.

I would like to do this for our trip next Sunday as it is my dds' birthdays. We are only staying at the Santa Fe, but thought it was worth a try. Where would I find the direct email address for the Santa Fe? Or does anyone have it? Thanks! Good luck OP with your request!

Thanks for the email address! If they allocate rooms a week before arrival as Tennisfan says, I will send one maybe 5 days before.
Thanks to everyone for your replies, its worth a try isn't it?! We will have a great time regardless but a little pixie dust goes a long way, especially as my 2 friends are Disney newbies.

Well, with 5 days to go, I have just sent the email.
I wasn't quite sure what to write.... I said that I was concerned the renovation works might impact our stay and asked for as pleasant a room as possible. I said that we are celebrating our graduation, that my friend is also celebrating her birthday and that neither of my friends has experienced any disney park before so I want this trip to be truly magical for them.

In all honesty, I'm not expecting anything - if we get a lake view out of it that would be great. There's no harm in trying, eh?!

I sent a similar email for my friend's first visit last year, ironically to the SL as well.

Don't be afraid to resend (even to the DLH and ask them to forward to SL on your behalf) if you don't get a response before you travel - you can say you just wanted to make sure the email was received as you really are wanting the trip to be as magical as possible...

There is no direct email to the Sequoia Lodge, you could fax them or email Disney with your request

What has every one received when emailing? We are going in just over two weeks we are celebrating a birthday, our 1st wedding anniversary and a birthday I would love to have a little perk but we are staying at the davy crockett in a premium cabin!

We are leaving on saturday and staying at Davy Crockett in a premium cabin too, I emailed and asked if I could arrange for anything special to be left in the cabin but they emailed back and said this would not be possible due to the turnaround of cabins or something? So I am not expecting anything! x
