How far in advance to reserve for Easter week ?

If we do Easter week in 2007 ... when would you reserve a room ?

2007 discounts are not out till Dec '06 or Jan '07, I would guess.
But if I wait till then, will I miss getting a room ?


I know this is the wrong board - but when would you buy your plane tickets ? - we fly SouthWest and I think they only sell 6 months in advance.

We could leave Holy Thursday, April 5, 2007 and stay till Saturday April 14, 2007. We'll have annual pass tickets.

This will be our 2nd time around on the AP's.
2006 is our 2 week adventure.

We stayed at POFQ this year during Easter week. I made the original reservation when the room only codes came out...I think it was during December. There seemed to be plenty of rooms available at that point. I changed our reservation (moved everything back 2 days) about 6 weeks before without a problem. The month before, everything seemed to be booked.

In the end, we arrived on Easter Monday and stayed til Sunday. I would think that the toughest nights to reserve would be Good Friday and Saturday b/c folks on vacation the week before Easter would overlap with those off the week after Easter.

Can't you make a reservation before the codes come out and apply the code when they do come out? But I don't think you'll have a problem when the codes come out either.

You can make the reservation, they will not have the correct rates, so you will be charged the current deposit amount. Then if discounts come out, you can change the reservation in any way you want. But there is no harm in making the reservation now. I am going to be making mine for next Aprils vacation in just a couple of days.
