How far in advance to fax room requests?

How far in advance should I fax in my room requests? Also, who would I fax them to for VWL and BCV? Thanks!!!

I've done a fax no more than 4 days before arrival.

Personally, I just make my requests at the time I book the room.
There is still some confusion as to whether or not this gives you a priority on requests. I am not sure if it goes by the room booking date, or the date you gave them the special request.

Was at BCV last week checking out the studio for my next trip. Spoke with a very nice and candid CM at the BC front desk who told me that faxing requests is "a waste of time" and that they "usually don't look at them at all." I was quite surprised. Member Services was great with taking my requests and made me feel confident that my all needs should be met (if humanly possible).

The second thread contains this illuminating paragraph from DVC Nut, whose former job was to assign rooms at OKW:

By the way, please read the entire post from DVC Nut. The paragraph above makes DVC Nut seem like a negative person. That's not the case, if you read it in context.

The simple answer is that you don't need to worry about sending a fax if you simply make your requests with Member Services. That way, your requests will be part of your reservation &#151; not a separate piece of paper that might never be matched up with your reservation record.
