How far in advance to buy tickets?

I have a room reservation for March, but I've been holding out on purchasing tickets because I want to see if they put out any package deals for March.

I know March is the least likely time for a deal, so I may wind up just paying full rate in the end.

Do I need to worry about getting tickets ahead of time? In other words, do they ever "sell out" of park tickets. I would hate to leave booking my park tickets until March only to find out the park tickets were sold out.

Mostly, I'm guessing that all my other plans are set, and I'm clearly just looking for something to worry about! It really is tough being an organized planner that has to wait and wait and wait for the vacation day to arrive!

MYW tickets never sell out. A park may reach capacity and no one is allowed in until some people leave but they dont sell out. These capacity situations are extremely rare anymore and usually only occur in super high peak times, like week of christmas to new years (w/ nye being the busiest) and maybe 4th of July. If you are getting your tickets mailed to you then order a few weeks in advance.

I really can't think of any reason why you wouldn't just order tickets when you booked your room and done a 'package' since you dont have any discounts now. You may want to think about doing that. It will save some hassle of not having to keep up w/ room keys and tickets in the park. There are a few other 'minor' perks you will get like a photopass certificate, arcade gift cards, coupon on water sports, etc. If you have a package and a discount comes out you can call and add it. If a room only discount comes out you want to take advantage of, cancel the package, you can at 45 + days out with no penalty and if a deal is coming it will be out well before the 45 days.

I booked my room back in Spring before the packages for 2010 were released, that is why I only have a room and no tickets yet. I will get a package at some point, but for now I just have the room reserved.

Thanks for the info on capacity versus tickets selling out.
