How far in advance is a good time to book your resort? Is a year pushing it. Or can I wait closer to the 6 month mark. Just wan't to assure my spot will be there.

Welcome to the DIS, Kaekae!

If you have your heart set on a particular resort, I would book at least six months out to secure a room. If you are going during an extremely busy season (Christmas week, Easter week, or Thanksgiving), you may want to book even earlier than that.

We're going in May 2005 and I'm going to book as soon as the 2005 rates come out. I know you can do it anytime and then they adjust your account when the new rates come out, but I'll force myself to wait a little while longer.....

I'm just so excited about our trip!!

OK, I'm a dork...

You are not a dork! It's called "Disney fever" And I must admit Iv'e caught it to. I'll be there in May 2006. I'll also be going as a first time mom, ds will be almost 3. I can't wait, dh says I'm funny to start planning this far ahead but I'm so excited I just can't help my self.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Well, my next trip won't be till 2008, can you imagine that countdown clock???

I was there as a child, but last year was my first trip in 15 years and first trip as a mom of my 3-year-old daughter. It was also my husband's first trip ever. We went and stayed offsite with 10 other family members.

Our next trip will be in 2008 when my daughter is 8. She will remember that trip more. We'll be going for 14 nights ONSITE at POP. Can't wait... Even started a savings account (CD) specificially saving for it.

I've definately got the disney fever. Wonder if you can book that far in advance? hehehe.

kaekae,

I too am from mo and am also planning a trip for may, 2006. I'm just learning like you. I've never been before. I've been reading stuff about getting your AP and room discount codes. What is that all about? I do have AAA, but otherwise I'm confused!

I'm planning a Grand Gathering for May 2005. We haven't officially booked anything yet, but Dream Come True
Vacations

has been helping explore all our options so we could begin the "process". I know I don't have the real prices, but I can get a pretty good idea. As long as you know what resort you want, I'd say planning a year out is not a horrible idea. At least it get's that part settled so you can focus on dinner/park plans. Then again, I'm slightly obsessed :)

If it is a holiday the farther in advance the better off you are. They sell out usually about a year prior at some resorts.
