how far in advance to book?

My family loves to camp but we have always stayed at a hotel when going to disney but next time we go we are thinking of staying at the campground because we do not want to leave our dog at home.

How far in advance do you need to book to get into the campground i have tried to play with different dates on the disney site and it will not let me book the campground just the cabins. Do you have to book the campground on the phone only?

any advise would be a great help.

You can book 499 days in advance. Are you sure you went far enough down on the Resort dropdown? It's way at the bottom...about 3 from the bottom. I just checked and it was there. Good luck!

Make sure you are clicking on "campsites at Fort Wilderness"and not the "Fort Wilderness Cabins" in the Moderate Resort area .

Also, Sometimes you will have to book many days to get the time frame you're looking for. You can then call and cancel off the days you don't need. It's a crazy system!

I might be trying to book too many days I want to go for ten days but maybe i will try seven.

We book 499 days out when we know for sure about a period of time, especially December and late October. I find the Disney site less that user friendly, it is easier to just pick up the phone or use a TA or go into a AAA office and have them check (if you are a member). If you use a TA then they will keep an eye on upcoming discounts and apply them for you when they can.
