How far in advance should I order my groceries?

I am pretty sure we are not doing the dining plan and we will want to do breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch etc. so I will need to order groceries... planning on using local store.... any advice on who is best and when should I order? We arrive June 26th... flight lands at 4.. hoping to be at resort by 6.

I would give them a few days, check with the place you are ordering from.

Our last trip we did it from Walmart and ordered 3 days in advance. Hope this helps.

I think it depends on which service you are using. With Amazon Prime Now, my understanding is that you cannot place the order more than about a day ahead. With Garden Grocer, on the other hand, my understanding is that the earlier you place the order, the bigger a discount you get. There are other services as well; I don't know about timing with them.

We use Garden Grocer and order early so we can pick our time slot....sometimes they fill up. It's very easy to add/change things, too.

instacart works very well. I put the order in prior to leaving for my flight and selected a time for when i expected to be at the hotel. If you do not order alcohol, they will leave the groceries with bell services, so you actually don't have to be there.

With respect to alcohol -- I've used it three times. Once, they required me to meet them there. The other two times, they left the bottles with the front desk or bell services. I guess it depends on the driver/delivery person.

I really liked my experience with amazon prime now on our last trip. We did some dairy and bread items. I didn't look for any sandwich items, but my guess is that they would offer something. I felt the prices were significantly better than with GG, the only "fee" was a tip that was added on. I was able to select a delivery window that was free, but if you had to have it within 2 hours then they tacked on a fee. We could wait so i picked an 8-10pm window. They were great with letting me know my order was being processed, when it was on its way and when it was delivered. If you have prime it is free, but my guess is that if you don't have prime there might be a fee.

For my order i did it while waiting in line for a ride on the app. I had pretty much added what i needed to the cart and had the address for the resort set up. This was around 3-4pm.
