How far in advance do you need to purchase MVMCP tickets?

We are going the second week in December. I've always wanted to do the Christmas party and this will probably be the only time we'll be in Disney for the holidays. My daughter will have just turned 4. I think she'll be fine, but I'd like to wait until we are there to see how she handles all the activity before deciding. Is this doable or should I just take a chance and buy tickets now? We arrive on Sunday and leave on Friday. I'd be looking at either the Tuesday or Thursday party.

It's impossible to know which dates will or won't sell out.

Some guests wait until just before the event (to account for weather issues, etc.)
but that always leaves the possibility of waiting too late for a party that happens to sell out.

It's a tricky business.

If (IF) it is very important to buy for a specific date, buy sooner rather than later.

I agree with Robo, but since you'll have two dates to choose from, I think you'll have a high chance of getting tickets for at least one of them. Second week of December is not that busy / but again, as Robo said, you never know.
If it were me and I was worried that my daughter might not be up to it, I would just not mention it to her and wait and see. Then if it turns out she could have done it but it's sold out ... The only one disappointed will be you.
