How far in advance do you know your dining rotation?

I ask because it would seem logical that you know your dining rotation well before you board the ship and rush over to make Palo reservations. For example, I definitely wouldn't want to miss out on a formal dinner with my kid at Animator's Palatte because of a poorly timed Palo reservation.

Unless you are doing a special package or are in one of the suites you won't know until you get to the port. When you check in at the port you will receive your Key to the World Cards. They will have a code printed on them. If you are on the 7-day it will look something like this ... APLAPLA (with the variations being PLAPLAP or LAPLAPL). This indicates your dining rotation.

The exception to this is if you are doing the Land/Sea package and won't need to check in at the port. Then you will find out your rotation when you get to your stateroom. It will be printed on ticket-like cards on your desk.

Edited to Add: The formal and semi-formal nights do not change from week to week. On the Eastern the formal night is on Sunday and on the Western the formal night is on Monday. The semi-formal night is Thursday on both itineraries.

Jin,
It is even worse than that for us, however. As we are both on the 14-day FL-CA cruise, we likely won't find out what our rotation will be until we check-in at the port, but beyond that, we probably won't know what nights are going to be "special" nights until perhaps the night before. If I were you, I would find our your rotation when you check in and then just choose any day for Palo except for the first night in Animator's.

Yes, it is going to be quite the experience for us Rick!!! I think there are a lot of things we won't know until we check in.

We made our Palo reservations for Thursday night on our western cruise. It was a night that wasnt really to special at dinner so we didn't miss a darn thing. And Palo was empty. There were only 5 couples including us in the whole place. The waitress said it was because everyone booked early in the week.

With 14 days on the ship Jindy i hope we CAN Dine at Palo with u for Brunch or Dinner or both but Do not worry about getting Reservations Will be a piece of Cake.... with that many days on the Ship.... Always Thinking positive....

over here on the EAST Coast..

Peter

Peter you are always the voice of reason! Have a great time at WDW this week!!

We will be doing a cruise with friends. If the rotation of dining is pre-defined, can we some how ensure that we will be on the same rotation with our friends?

Thanks

Asked to have your reservations linked, then you will be assigned the same table as them. Your TA should be able to do this or call DCL.
