we are just in the infancy of discussing a disney cruise....we were planning on going to Disney in April 2005, but now are considering adding a cruise to one end...my question, is it too late to secure a good room for 4/05

It's probably not too late to get a decent cabin (unless you're looking at the week of 4/18 - many New England schools on vacation that week), but the longer you wait, the higher the price. DCL books their ships like the airlines book their planes. As more cabins are booked, they raise the price on the remaining cabins. If you have specific dates and cabin category in mind, it would be a good idea to call DCL, or a TA, and check availability and price.

We booked our last DCL cruise 19 months in advance and booked the August repositioning cruise next year the day they opened the reservations this past May.

We booked Sept 03 for March 04. We got a pretty good deal, but we weren't early enough to get early seating. We were on the wait list. We found out we got early when we boarded.

We booked for april 3, 2005 land/sea about amonth ago was able to get two of the secret port hole rooms, seemed like plenty of availabilty but prices do rise so the sooner the better then you can request specific state rooms! Good luck planning is very fun!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D

We always book early (about a year out) so we get the early booking savings and early dinner seating. As soon as you decide for sure that you want to do a cruise get it booked asap.

I have booked as much as 18 months ahead and as little as 2 days (no kidding!). The only thing about April is that some schools are on vacation, so those will fill up. There's no downside to booking early--you can cancel up to 60 days ahead with no penalty, and the cost will only go up.
