I called today to set up Magical Express, we leave December 26. The woman on the phone told me I was too early. She told me to call back on December 13th, not sure why that's the magic date. :confused3 I thought you could set up ME as soon as you had a reservation, am I wrong? Should I just call back and talk to someone else?

I made a request today for January online. We are DVC members, and I did it though the member website. Not sure if you can make it through the regular site, but I really don't think it is to early. We I made our ressies for Sept '07, they actually asked if I wanted to use ME. (of course I don't have those flights yet.) Call back! I think they should be sending out your packets prior to Dec 13!

We have ours all set for Feb. We did it when we made the reservation. :confused3

Okay, I will call back. I thought it sounded strange because I thought they send out the packets about 30 days in advance and December 13th is only 13 days in advance of our trip. I can't do it online (at least I don't know how) because we have 4 people and 3 different flights.

1st they send out packets at about 45 days now.

Call and get yourself in the system. Then you can call ME direct and do what ever changes you need. But ME can't talk to you until you are in their system

So it sounds like the problem is that I am not in the system? Should I just set it up online even though it will be incorrect for some of us and then call and change?

I would call it might be faster and you still have plenty of time to get your package. On-line could take a couple of extra days.We made a resort change with about 30 days out and I still got my new tags in time.

Either way you should be OK as long as it's done by the the 30 day mark.

Even if the others coming in on different flights or days and don't have their tags they can still get their bags manually pulled at Check-in. The biggest thing is getting all people on the ressie in the system ,all else can be changed with one simple call to ME.

There are 2 different systems. When you make your resort and/or package reservation with CRO, they can also make the DME reservation for you. After that, it's done, and you'd never really need to do anything else.

But sometimes, flight information is missing. So some people are inclined to call DME directly, 866-599-0951. Problem is, DME does not have access to your DME reservation until 60 days prior to your arrival. If you call DME 61 days prior to your arrival, they won't even be able to find you in their system (which can tend to cause panic -- been there and done that, that's how I now have this info to share :goodvibes ).

So like I've been saying for a while, if you're more than 60 days out, deal with CRO. 60 days or less, call DME directly.

And whatever CM said that someone should wait until 13 days before arrival to make a DME reservation was clearly DEAD WRONG. You don't want to wait that long. You CAN wait that long, but there's absolutely no reason for it.

I called DME directly right around my 61 day mark. :rotfl2: Figures. No wonder they couldn't help me. So now I am at 55 days so it is okay to call DME? Or will I have better luck with CRO?
