How far in advance can we book?

Looking for either November or December 2009. How far in advance can we book:

- packages

or

- room only (assuming we can get our room only reservations in as soon as possible to hopefully help us with our requests, and then add the package items later? - can this be done)

I'm looking at December 2009 as well. Packages can be booked 499 days in advance - for instance, I'm looking at an arrival date of 12-5-2009. As of right now, that's 536 days away, so I have to wait 37 days till I can book a package. However, the price may not be exact when booking that early, cause they may not have realeased the 2009 prices by that date. But, they can give you a good estimate and go ahead and book it. This is what I was told by a Disney Cm, hope I have everything right.

You can book a room only reservation 499 days in advance, not a package. The 499 days is really from your last day at the resort, not the first day. When the real rates and packages are released, you can change the room only reservation to a package. When you make the room only reservation you will be charged a one night deposit based on the 2008 peak rate for your resort. Depending upon when in Dec you want to go, the real rates and packages may be out by the time you reach the 499 day point.

Brentalex is correct.....packages can't be booked until the 2009 prices are released, which will probably be sometime in August. You can book room only now and your ressie will be adjusted to reflect the 2009 prices when they come out, at which time you can switch your room only over to a package if that's what you want .

Maybe I got a bum CM then. I think maybe what my CM meant was that she thought the 2009 prices would be released by the time I was ready to book. Who knows.....

10 days ago i booked a room only for feb 2009 for a week, was charged 1 night peak rate, and given a conf number.
few days later in the mail got it in writing. when i called she said call back after rates for 09 are posted and change to a package. she was very helpfull.
