How far in advance can I book?

I am sure the answer is out there somewhere, but I figured I could get a quick response here...
Disney marketing has finally upped the ante enough where we are going to stay on-site for our next trip in January of 2007. (seems so far away, huh?) Magical Express and the Meal Plan are two major reasons. Not to metion, it will be our first trip with two children, the oldest of which will be 3.

When can I first book a package for that time? What do I have to put down for a deposit? (Or do I pay for the whole thing when I book it?)
As an on-site newbie, I appreciate the help!

I think you can book now! but realize your price will change when the new prices for 2007 come out. Which I would guess some time mid/late 2006. You will have to put down a 200 deposit and pay in full by 45 days out.

We are going in 2007 too! For ESPN weekend or so DS thinks. Otherwise it will be at Christmas time!

3 days and I am out of here! :cool1:

I am so glad there are others out there wanting to plan for 2007 :) I just told my DH that we will be doing Disney January 2007! :) :) :)

For me, planning is half the fun.
That's why I like to start planning so early!

I just went in May 2005, and we plan to go again in 2007, maybe May again or maybe during November's "Jersey Week."

There's no guarantee that Disney's Magical Express will still be in existence in January 2007. It's only guaranteed through the end of 2006. After that, it may cease to exist. However, the general NON-FACT-BASED BELIEF is that DME will continue after 2006 but will no longer be free.

That's what I keep telling my wife. So what if I know where we are having lunch in August 2016. I'm not letting it go to the last minute.

I guess I wasn't clear. (not unusual!)
What I meant was... can I book a package with the AAA rate through AAA, and then if a better Disney code comes out, switch the AAA rate for the Disney rate.

Hopefully that made better sense.

I do not believe that any AAA rates have been released yet for 2007. You can reserve a room now, but all you will be quoted is rack rate, and even that rate is not guaranteed. Sometime in the late spring or summer of 2006, the rates will be locked and AAA rates will come out around the same time. At that point, you can try to apply AAA, and then try to apply a further discount code later.
