How far in advance are hours (typically) changed?

We are going mid-May, and trying to plan where to be on which days. FP day is coming up, and I'd also like to start stalking ADR openings. I don't have hoppers, so I need to commit to my plan.

At this point, DHS is still showing 9am openings, and with the BG insanity at 8am, I shudder to think what it will be like if they really stick to 9. Any guesses as to if/when hours might change?

Yes, I know they can change at any point. I'm trying to get a sense of when they are likely to change. I'm hoping it is before I need to make solid plans. I realize the hours are never set in stone, but I'm hoping for more than the generic placeholder hours listed currently.

It honestly can be now all the way to the day before, Disney has become very unpredictable in this manner. The latest time charges have been done about 3 weeks in advance

With Disney, the hours can and will change hours very close to the date in question. It's something they do that really annoys people because Disney has created a system where you are encouraged to make these detailed plans so far in advance, and then Disney makes park hour changes that topple people's carefully constructed game plans.

It doesn't always happen, of course---thank goodness! But I always make any FPs or ADRs and tell my family that they are as set as they can be.

It was the 2nd Friday of the month before for a while. I know things have been wonky since Rise opened, though.

FWIW, I just make my plans and consider it a bonus if park hours get extended

They use to follow a pretty reliable pattern of updating hours the 2nd Friday of the prior month, but that's pretty much out the window for HS at least. Our trip starts in 2 weeks and they changed the park opening a week or so ago I believe. Mid May is not the busiest of times and they've done very little in the way of extending park hours for the Spring Break time frame. They have made no changes at all for April, let alone May as of now. We scrambled to change plans several times for our March trip- hours changed, MMRR opened, SR's changed to FP- it's been a mess!

I’ve been in Disney before when they extended hours because of crowd levels. It can be very unpredictable. By 60 days out, I would expect the have basic times set. That doesn’t mean they won’t open early or close late, but I would not expect them to shorten hours at that point.

I wasn't able to secure an earlier time for MMRR, but was able to move up my ToT one of our mornings in the park. Bummer. This trip has changed so many times and I have made and modified a number of times.

3/16-3/21- I kind of laugh a little when people want all hours and options firm at 60 days. I've never planned a trip with so made last minute changes! Hopefully they're done now, but I wouldn't bet much on it.
