The biggest move of my life was when I headed north to NH! Born and raised in Boston, this city girl headed for the country to get married and raise a family. Now some 24 years later I am looking toward a move that will be 1,000 miles away!!

What is the furthest you have moved from home? Any regrets, or do you find it easy to adapt to a whole new area?

Just thinking about changing addresses, phone numbers, etc..phew!! Gotta make a list, LOL!! :)

Thus far, the most traumatic thoughts I am having are those of trying to find a new hairdresser, waxing technician and gynecologist!! ROFLOL!!!! Only women can identify with these issues...hehehe!

Moved from Cincinnati to Kentucky, moved back to Cincinnati after about 2 years. Wanted to be in the same neighborhood as family.:D

I live in Southern California (in Orange County) until I was 12. Then we moved about 600 miles north and I have lived within 10-15 miles of the house we move to back in 1984.

From Washington State to Missouri. The move is as good as you make it -

Good luck!

Sandi

The furthest move I made was from CT to Italy! If you didn't notice my tag, my DH is in the military, so we move often. I have moved from NY to VA; VA to GA; GA to CA; CA to NY; NY to Italy; Italy to Italy; Italy to CT and then CT to Italy. Each move is different and unique, you have to adapt easily or you will go crazy. I find the easiest way to adapt is to familiarize yourself with the area, become involved when you move and have a positive attitude. And I have to say the hardest move for us was when we lived in Georgia and we moved across town, move me across country or across the ocean, but do not move me a couple of miles, that was awful!

About 1,500 miles, from Kansas City to Southern California 20 years ago. :)

Carol, I have one word for you...REFERRALS! Ask your friends in Chicago to find out from their female friends all those important contacts. ;) Or if you get a job there, ask your co-workers and friends from the job -- that's how I ended up with many of my doctors and I STILL go way out of my way to my optometrist that is wonderful and was recommended to me 20 years ago by a co-worker. :)

It IS daunting but once you settle in you will feel at home in no time at all. :)

each move has been further & futher away.......but this is the last & it's 45 mins from home:p

ROFL! That would be traumatic. ;)

Sorry I dont have any advice for you since Ive lived in Woburn all my life except the first 4 years I was married when I went to Melrose, about 15 minutes away.

Best of luck to you though! Where are you going?

We moved to Seville, Spain for two years when we were first married. Everyplace we moved to over the years has been a wonderful experience.

Best wishes.

Moved just within the state of Minnesota a couple times before marraige. Then moved from Minnesota to New York after marraige and back from New York to Minnesota 4 years later. We have since moved 3 times within Minnesota, and will make another move within the area when we get into the new log home.

Carol..this is exciting news....how VERY nice!

Our biggest move was from Cape cod to St Croix, then from St croix to Indiana and then back to cape Cod.

As a kid we moved form nebraska to New Jersey...yeah, i guess I've had a couple big moves.

My only big move was from south subs of Chicago to Gainesville, Fl. last August. Before that I always lived within 30 minutes of my hometown.

Not one single regret tho, we love it here!!

Good Luck on the move:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My biggest move was when we went from Chicago to Ft. Collins, Colorado.:D

From one end of town to the other and that was almost 38 years ago.
