How far does a Canadian Passport need to be from its expiry date to sail?

I'm sailing in February and two of my daughter's passports expire in May. Will we be okay to sail with DCL?

Expiration date restrictions are based on each country's requirements, not the cruise line. Generally speaking, passports are valid until they expire.

There are some countries that require a minimum length of time before departing the country, in many cases you must have at least XX number of month on your passport past your scheduled departure date from the country.

Most ports in the Caribbean have no such restrictions.

While the passports are valid until they expire, many destinations expect you to have 3 or 6 months left on your passport after your planned departure date before your arrival. I can say with certainty that Italy is 6 months. Airlines will not let you board a flight unless you meet the admissibility requirements.

Based on my Caribbean travel experience:

Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda and Martinique require 6 months
Saint Martins requires 3 months as does Saint Lucia.

Generally speaking, even if you are just there for a day on a cruise ship, a passport allows you to stay in a country 6 months so you would need 6 months past your date of entry left on your passport. My Travel Agents have always recommended having at least 6 months left on your passport.

Yes, it's a good recommendation, but not actually required everywhere.
