How far between Newport Beach and Disneyland?

I have a potential seminar in Newport Beach. How feasible would it be to stay near Disneyland and let my DH and the kids spend the days at the parks while I am there? Yahoo maps predicts a 25 minute drive but I am wondering about the California traffic.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Depends on the time of day. If you go there or back during morning or afternoon rush hours, it'll take you the better part of an hour. The transition from the 55 fwy to the 5 fwy and up past the 57 fwy can be particularly slow. If you go up there after about 10am and return after about 7pm, you'll be fine and the drive should be quick. Be sure to use the carpool lanes when someone's with you, as it will save a lot of time and make that 55/5 transition a lot easier!!
