How far away?

We are trying to figure out what to do for groceries. I already asked a question about grocery delivery in another thread. This question is in case we decide to go get groceries on our own.

How far away from GCH is the closest grocery store? We need a REAL grocery store, not a convenience store. Any guesses as to what cab fare would be from GCH to that store?

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

I know that there are some that are close, but we drive so we always have a car. Did you try asking Front Desk or Concierge? Or maybe google Ralphs or check Yellowbook on-line?

Good luck~

I think you would need to drive to get to one, or take the bus. There is a Von's, but it's a ways away.

There is a Food 4 Less, 2 blocks east of Disneyland Drive and Katella (the intesection just behind the Maliboomer corner of DCA.

OP...I am pretty sure if you saw how big these blocks are it's not something you would want to walk. But If you start looking at the cab cost a delivery service might look great!

We went ot the Vons on Lincoln; didn't seem that far away at all. I think that the biggest cost in cabbing it to a store would be the charge for the *waiting time*. You might want to call Yellow Cab in Anaheim, see the approx cost, then look at the cost of a rental car for a day from Alamo (the DownTown Disney office that's *right there*).

If you're going to be there for delivery, there will be no problems with them delivering to you, even if you have alcohol. For some reason the Grand (and maybe DLH and PPH) suddenly developed a problem with accepting booze-containing orders from Vons without the person there...however, it was later reported that the CMs at the Grand accepted a booze-containing order from a *different* place (do not have a clue as to the name) without the guests there...so their policy is inconsistent. But if you'll be there, there's no problem!

Does the Target on Harbour have some groceries?

It has some but not a ton.

We usually go to Food 4 Less. Its cheaper than the other supermarkets and its open 24 hours. But i would not recommend walking there. If we are staying in Garden Grove we sometimes go to the Albertson on Harbor by 22. But its more expensive than the Food 4 Less.

Gonzalezes Northgate Market is less than two miles away on Euclid, there is a Von's on Chapman near Harbor that is about three miles away and I believe the ART bus goes down Chapman.

Thanks everyone for all of the awesome information!!!!

Our major local grocery chains here are Albertsons, Vons, Ralphs, Pavillions, Stater Bros., and Food 4 less.

Not sure on the cab price, but it shouldn't be that bad

Nancy-
Thanks for giving us the list of stores so that we can try and find the best option for us. Since we aren't from California, we didn't even know what to look for. :thumbsup2
