How far away is the ocean to where you live?

I don't know -- 8 or 9 hours, I guess (maybe less).

We live 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.

And, we never - ever - go to the beach.

I was the same way when I lived in Florida (for 13 years). I never went to the beach. Just don't see the appeal.

We usually take a Disney Cruise every year or year-and-a-half or so. My day at Castaway Cay (of which I spend 99% of in the cabana) holds me until the next trip.

Too damn far and I miss it!! At least 20 hours driving in any direction. Used to live an hour from it.

Way way WAY too far away. Closest would probably be the Pacific Ocean by Seattle. When we drove over there a couple of years ago it was about an 8-9 hour drive.

The Pacific ocean is beautiful, but pretty much worthless for things like swimming, at least in the Pacific NW. Too rocky, TOO cold!! I prefer the warmer waters around FL, but that is CLEAR across the country, so I don't get there very often.

To live no more than an hour away from the ocean is one of my retirement goals.

We live about 10 minutes from the oceanfront strip area of the beach, but we only go there in the evenings during the summer for the entertainment or in the off season. If we go to the beach for the day we go to a less populated beach, which takes about 30 minutes to get to, but it's because it's all back roads.

We only go maybe a handful of times a year though.

Well .. it's about a half mile away, so 5 minutes by car or 15-20 minutes on foot. There is a couple long lights that keep you waiting for the walk light!
