I booked a value studio. Are they all in the same area ? how far are they from the lobby. Last time I stayed there in a regular room it was a hike. Also how do they compare to the regular sized rooms? Its just me my husband and son. TIA.

If you look at the map that the PP linked, She/he is correct. We had a studio in Giraffe Trail in that 1st pod off of the main lobby. 5th floor. facing the pool...Kind of above JIKO... Mind you, I'd say it was the perfeccct location TBH. So close to lobby, so close to back/side entrance to pool area, so close to short cut to the buses (* To n Fro ).
The size was a lil bit smaller, but we made it work. It was 4 of us , so the 3 of you should be fine. TBH For us , the room is only a place for us to lay our head down at night. We don't ever spend much, if any time in there. Our neighbors came that trip, and they got a 1br Val which was on the Ostrich trail. 1st pod to the left of lobby, and also facing in...I believe there was a small view of the savannah from what I remember. You should be fine....Take the time & explore if you haven't already been/stayed at AKL/V because it is truly a wonderful resort.. With some of the best CM's out of all :thumbsup2

See this room map of the fifth floor showing room sizes and room numbers. www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5-large.html

The values are the rooms along the Ostrich and Giraffe Trails. As the map shows, there are also still a number of regular hotel rooms on that floor overlooking the front entrance area. The only values actually facing the front entrance area are the odd numbered rooms 5129-5135 on the Ostrich Trail; the other values on the Ostrich Trail have Sunset savanna view. The distance from even the last value rooms on the two trails to the elevator to the lobby is fairly short. Note that rooms 5202-5209 and 5401-5406 are standard view not value, and those sit directly below the club level rooms on the 6th floor (and there is no 6th floor in any other area at Jambo).

I have been Lucky enough to have room 5205 06 as it was a 2 BR for a week. Great location and still a view of the Savannah. I also had room i believe 5214 a studio for 1 night as we just used as an add on also a view of the savanna although they are all standard view. But to answer the question as to how close to Elevator and how fast to exit... lets say you can not really get any closer the rooms are very close. The standards would be similar and maybe even closer. I will say it was nice after a day at the parks.

Here is a map that shows the location of standard view rooms, more than half of which actually have savanna view: i.imgur.com/G2qaSva.png. Some are close to the lobby, but many are not. Best chance of getting a standard view with a savanna view is to put in a request to MS for the room to be on the Kudo Trail side of Jambo because all standards on that side of the building have Sunset savanna view.
