How far ahead do I need to book a scooter?

We won't be in WDW until Easter. How far ahead will I need to book a scooter?

I would do it by the first part of January at the latest. Easter is a very busy time at Disney.

I have the dates but not the flight times for departure. I don't want to have it picked up if I may need it for part of the day even around the hotel and area.
