We are going to WDW for almost 2 weeks for Christmas '08 :cool1: and we are doing the DDP. I want to make ADR's for our meals, but need to find out what the EMH's for each park is during that period first. I know the parks are busier on those days, so I'm not sure if I want to avoid the EMH parks or not, lol. Either way, I am hoping to find out before I have to make my ADR's 180 out.

Does anyone know when the Dec '08 hours are released ?? :confused3

Click the above link for the OFFICIAL WDW Calendar.
Then:

1. Pick your Park.
2. Pick your Month.
3. CLICK ON the DATE on which you want the info.

Disney publishes dates and times approximately 6 months in advance.
Make sure to check back often, as times and events are subject to change as the actual dates get nearer.

For EMH, click on the WORDS "Extra Magic Hours" on the calendar.
Or click HERE:

Another WDW INFO link:

Again, remember to check back often as your trip approaches.
AND also check DURING your trip, just in case there are last-minute changes.

I'm don't think this is typical, but last September they changed some EMH's just weeks before the dates. In fact, one day we were in line at MGM before 9 am and there were several upset people in line who thought they were opening at 8 (as was originally published). CM's actually opened the park a little before 9 telling us that they would have TOT open and would work fast to get as many attractions open as possible. It was a little weird, but kind of fun!

Thanks for the links. It looks like they go out just over 6 months. Hopefully they will release them just before our 180 day ADR mark.

Wow...I wonder why they would make last minute changes like that. I am more concerned with the evening EMH's as we are not early morning people. We are hoping to be able to hit some of the parks late at night...I know it will be crowded that time of year, but I am hoping maybe it isn't so bad late at night ?? Is that wishful thinking ?? :lmao:

Disney can make changes in the schedule at any time.

As for attending EMH-
Each EMH experience can be different.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip
that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)...
never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly
empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later...
Were happy with "doing" that park for the day and we
can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until
later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were
PACKED... but on other nights (sometimes within the
same trip), the crowds were basically so low that it
was like "free rides" on all the open attractions.

Those who have attended PM EMH's and say that "they
are TOO CROWDED" are right... but ONLY for the nights
they may have attended.
I can say, from personal experience, that they CAN be
EMPTY, or FULL or somewhere IN-BETWEEN for attendance,
often within the same week.

On our most recent late-April trip to WDW,
we went to PM EMH at AK on a Wed night and PM EMH at MK
on a Sun night.
The EMH's were so EMPTY that we could have stayed on many attractions and ridden around and around.
This included Splash, BTM, and Pirates (and many more) at
MK, and Exp. Everest, Kali, and Dinosaur at AK. And
the crowds during the DAY at these parks were very
LARGE... within the first hour of EMH, they simply
"evaporated."

But, it can change so much (either way), that saying
it was "like X" on a given night, can be meaningless
on another night in the same time-period. So, you
simply don't KNOW unless you go. Its similar to saying
that you attended on a given night and it rained, so
guests should never go on that night because it will
probably be rainy.

The rule seems to be, it is far easier for guests to
STAY UP at the end of the day, than it is for them to
GET UP at the start of the day.

But, considering EMH's are FREE to attend... if its
busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE
are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

If you're going AT Christmas next year, Disney will release the (subject to change) park hours for all of December, on or around June 1 - about three weeks before you can make any dining reservations.
