We have booked our 5 th cruise on the Wonder for March, 2005 and would love to "treat" my mom (who does tons for us) to join us BUT she snores and snores loudly!! How expensive is a single room? Even my kids can't sleep in the same room with her or I'd split it that way. Anyone else have a single room and where are they? We have 7060 reserved -- are there any possible single rooms (verandah not needed as she will only sleep in her room) on deck 7? Thanks so much!

I do not belive there are single rooms. You will have to pay a premium to have you mom in a room by herself. Other posters may know the exact number, but I belive it is 1.75 of the price of double occupancy.

Not knowing how old your kids are, you may want to price for two people compared to her being in the room by herself. You can book it that way, but once on the ship you can have the kids in your room

Do it quick, as the fares get higher as the date gets closer.

All of the rooms are set up to hold at least two people so my only recommendation to you would be to get an inside stateroom across the hallway from your outside room. That way she can enjoy the veranda with you in your room, but can snore alone in her room.

I agree....
On paper, put one of your kids in an inside stateroom with Gramma, but when you get on board, have your son sleep with you... It is definitely cheaper.
Thats the way we did it with three of our families

My single friend is coming on our Jan 8th cruise in her own stateroom. She is paying 1.75 the price of the room as as a double.

Be careful doing this though. You don't say how many kids you have but if you have 2 kids and you require a 4-person room, but you "put one of your kids on paper" with Grandma, you might end up with a 3-person cabin for yourself and nowhere to put your child that is with Grandma on paper.

I recently tried to book myself a cabin to get onto a cruise with my family that is going. Of course it was a late booking and the price was high because of it, but alone I was paying almost as much as a double occupancy cabin. The travel agent told me that it was 175%.

My sister has done this twice and getting ready to do it a 3rd time in Sept. with us!:)
Yes, it's a bit expesive for her to have her own cabin but probably no more than she'd spend on another vacation!
She enjoys her own room and it's totally worth it to her!::yes::

Actually the first two people in the room are charged the adult price no matter how old the "child" is.

figment.....I think the poster meant it would be cheaper to have 2 people in the cabin than one person with the single supplement.
