staying at all stars movies from 23rd october for 2 weeks with DH and 2 children(7,4) havent stayed on site before usually stay I-Drive and its our first visit in 8 years.Realise that the meals will not be as cheap as I-Drive restaurants but are they really expensive??

Hiya,

Do you mean how expensive are the meals at All Star Movies? If so, this menu should give you an idea for lunch / dinner and this one for breakfast.

Will you have a car? If so, you are only a five minute drive to the US 192 which has a host of all the chain restaurants you would have found on I Drive for the same prices.

HTH - we are also staying at All Star Movies in December and are very excited!!

PS Welcome to the Dis! :) :) :)

We ate all our meals on-site last August. We snacked for breakfast with cereal bars and stuff in our room and then had an early counter service lunch in the parks. For the 4 of us lunch was around $35 (4 burger or chicken strips with fries and drinks).
In the evening we had a few sit down meals at restaurants in the parks or resorts, these were usually between $100 and $120.
We also ate in the resort foodcourt and this usually came to about $35-40 for the 4 of us.

As we were on site for 14 days we didn't have a car, so the saving on insurance offset the extra cost of meals.

Lucy,

Have you seen the AKL menus on All Ears? Here they are!

Cheers

Karen

PS Maybe we are just sad but we actually love going offsite to have some meals. I need to get a Denny's and a Perkins' fix when I'm in Florida!

Hi mezrock Welcome to the DIS

Going to move this over to trip planning for you to get some more responses :)

im going offsite to eat to experience a bit of the rest of florida so to speak. i have heard there are some great places so its not just the lower cost but that does help.

ps will check the menu out now.

this looks gross

Timon's Griddle Cakes - three fluffy griddle cakes with gummy worms, fresh fruit slices and choice of bacon or sausage

bet the kids love it.

who eats gummy worms (or gummy anything) for breakky

lol

the prices seem ok. we eat out about once a week at places like tgi fridays so we spend about 50 quid there. we went yesterday and had a nice surprise as the kids meals were free so it was just over 40 quid. how cool was that.

it's been quite a few years since we stayed in the all stars, so i can't remember if we ate all the meals in the food court or not...

i do remember that when we used to stay at dixie landings (POR), we always asked for a fridge in our room and bought everything we needed for breakfast....eating breakfast in the room was much cheaper than buying the same stuff in the food court...

we bought the food in the souvenir store right in the resort....it carries all the basics like milk, cereal, bagels, creem cheese, donuts....and at better prices than buying them individually in the food court....of course you can also go to goodings or publix if you have a car.....but it's not necessary...you still save some money buying it in the resort store.....even factoring in the cost of the fridge......
