How easy?

How easy is it to get a table at a restaurant the first week of Sept without a res?

I wondering if I should leave some days to chance while I am down there -- do you know of Disney reserves the whole restaurant or do they like most establishments off the world leave some seats for first come/first serve?

The first week of Sept. is in the middle of free dining. I would guess that it would not be at all easy, but rather very difficult. If you are going to try, I suggest that you try to walk in early in the meal time. ie, 5:00 for dinner. You also might have better luck at a resort rather than in a park. Good luck.

be very difficult. Disney is offering the free dining dining plan at that time so a lot of restaurants are booked solid. The demand is so great that added lunch at Chef Mickey's and added hours at a couple of other places.

Disney does not hold tables for first come first serve at the TS locations. There are cancellations and things do open up. If you go down without all of your ADRs you can call the dining line while you're there to see what is open.

We were there last year during that week and many times we heard people turned away especially at the more popular restaurants. You may have luck if you try off peak hours and less popular restaurants.

If it's a popular restaurant or a theme park one, you can pretty much forget about it during free dining.

Disney does not hold seats for walkups. If the restaurant is booked up with those who have reservations, that's it.

I'm amazed you were able to get that many! I've been trying to change a couple of things around for weeks without success.
