Hello, I was hoping someone would know if its possible to add one more to our BOG reservation when we walk up to sign in? We are a party of 3 and had breakfast scheduled but decided we wanted to try for lunch instead. It's been hard to find but I found lunch for 2. I went ahead and grabbed it but I'm not sure if they will allow us to add the one more when we walk up or not.

Thank you for your help!

  • Not very easy at all.
I hate to be negative, but the chances of you walking up with three when you have an ADR for two and getting seated are almost 0%. This place is always booked and packed months ahead of time. I'd keep trying to get an ADR for the three of you. If not, I guess you can always try when you walk up; you may get lucky. But with that said, I would have a plan B and be content with dining somewhere else. Another possibility is to try and nab another ADR for 2 to go along with the one you have. If successful, then you know all three will be able to get in and then let them know at check in on the one ADR that the second person won't be coming.

**edit**
I wasn't thinking clearly this morning. As seen in a couple of posts, a second ADR for one would be the way to go rather than two. Still, good luck it's going to be tough.

I joined a group of friends last minute in February and it was no problem adding me to a breakfast ADR at the Be Our Guest check in kiosk. I don't know, however, if that's a common practice or if I just got lucky.

Might depend on if you made the number odd or even. If it's even it's usually no problem. If it's odd that usually requires a different sized table.

Keeping trying for:
- 3
- 4
- 1 around same time

Doesn't work like that at breakfast and lunch, since they don't seat you. They book the restaurant to full capacity, not by available tables.

OP, I'm not saying it can't be done. I will say that you will need a backup plan for the one extra, because there is a very good chance you won't be able to add an additional person when you get there. I've seen countless numbers of people turned away...those without a reservation, as well as those who showed up with extras. Lotss of people try the "Well, I can't get reservations for 4, so I'll just book this one for 3 and just show up and they'll let us all in" there, and it just doesn't happen. There will be the occasion case of magic that happens, but those are the exception.

It's not very likely that they will be able to caccomodate you.

I would keep trying for a lunch ADR around the same time for just 1 person.
Since you seat yourself you can sit together.

Thank you all!! That is exactly the information I needed. I was able to find a reservation for 1 for lunch around that time (20 mins earlier) We will all go together and see if they can seat us all. If not, no problem my girls are 18 and 16 and can easily do something for 20 minutes and then eat together while I go find something to do for that time and then meet them later. I appreciate all of your help!

You should all be fine. The time is close enough that if you all check in and let them know that you are together, they will try very hard to let you all in close together. Never a promise, but really good chance at lunchtime.

OP, I'm glad it worked out for you.

We just had an experience of a "late joiner" to our upcoming May trip. This was AFTER I made our ADRs...grrrr! LOL! But I found that calling Disney helped better than me trying online. The CM was able to add 1 to everything except our R&C for Illuminations. We got 1 added to BOG lunch, Ohana dinner and a few other (not as hard to get) reservations. (Sci Fi, Biergarten)

My mom and I had reservations 15 minutes apart. We got there early (didn't tell them we were together) and we didn't have a problem. Once we checked in we just ordered and paid together as if we were on the same reservation.

I would say the odds are highly unlikely. As previously mentioned, a party of three requires a different size table than a party of two. If you booked for three and showed up with four, it would be less of an issue. That being said, it is worthwhile to keep checking, up until the night before your ADR. You never know what might open up. Good luck!

As previously stated, this is not true at BOG breakfast and lunch. At these meals, it is a quick service restaurant. You seat yourself wherever you want that has enough seats. They do NOT book tables of 3 or 4 etc. They book to capacity

OP since you have 2 reservations 20 minutes apart, you will be fine. If necessary, and it probably won't be, the earlier diner could go in and secure seats for the 3 of you. The 2 later will just join the first and you can all eat together.
Good Luck

Been there done that... grrr is right.

Just a quick word of warning with your plan op....

We did that last month for breakfast
(10.15 ADR for 1 & 10.25 ADR for 2)

Checked in no problem at 10.15am-we all went through together.
Checked pre orders, scanned magic bands, had food all good.

When we got back home there was a $10 charge on credit card-
Someone along the way at be our guest had ds as a no show.
Still waiting for refund!

If you get a "one", you'll be fine. Don't forget you seat yourself, so the three of you can grab a table.

Mine is a little different....We are a party of 4 for dinner ( as of now ). There is a chance that the other couple may decide not to eat with us that night. Its their anniversary and might want some alone time. As we all know reservations are HARD to get at BOG. What will happen if they decide not to eat with us? I don't want to be charged for them, but I don't want to give up my reservation because I haven't been able to find anything for 2! Will they totally freak out if only 2 of us show up for a reservation for 4?

It's no problem at lunch. I've done it multiple times.

And others have been turned away.

Zero problems showing up with only 2 for a reservation for 4. However...as a courtesy...I would casually keep an eye out for a reservation for 2, thereby allowing you to release the reservation for 4 and allow someone else to get it. I wouldn't jump through any special hoops to do it, but it's just what I would do.
