How easily can you fall asleep?

Sleep is a distant memory for me. I lay awake forever. I am a habitual worrier and thats not conducive to a good nites sleep. I am going to the doctor to ask about the new drug Lunesta. Has anyone tried it?

Are you sure it's not depression? That's one of the first signs that my depression is coming back. :guilty:

It takes me about 20 minutes to fall asleep if conditions are right -- dark and quiet, or dark and with white noise. I'm a really light sleeper, so almost anything will wake me up and I wake up several times in the night.

DH can't get to sleep at all, but once he does fall asleep, he's out so hard that a sonic boom couldn't wake him up. He goes to sleep between 1-3 a.m. and wakes up at 6. Every single night. I don't know how he does it and it's so unhealthy.

I'm a great sleeper, I can fall asleep anywhere and do so pretty quickly.

I cant fall asleep without reading.....usually takes about 45 minutes then im out- with the light on.....LOL

Typically it would take me a while....but now that I am pregnant DH says I fall asleep literally as soon as I lay down.

If I don't fall asleep while watching TV and miss a show that I want to see ;) it only takes me about 10-15 minutes. And once I'm asleep, I'm sound asleep.

And if you ask my sister, she will tell you about the time that I fell asleep while eating a piece of pizza between the time I picked it up and it got to my mouth. Or the times at WDW when we would be talking and I suddenly just stopped mid sentence. :rotfl2:

It always takes me a minimum of 30 minutes to fall asleep. I am always amazed at how my husband no sooner lays down and he is out like a light!
I wish I could do that!!

It takes me forever to fall asleep. I am a light sleeper as well. Obviously I am the one who gets up at night if our son needs something. DH can fall asleep in a second. He call asleep in mid-click of the remote. All of a sudden he will be changing channels and then it will be stuck on QVC or something and he is sawing logs. He also sleeps so deeply he has no idea of what happens at night. I can assume he is awake have a conversation with him and he will have no recollection the next morning.

The secret to being able to fall asleep the minute your head hits the pillow is to have a child! I used to be in the group of non-sleepers and it would take me forever to fall asleep. Now though, totally different story. Last night I fell asleep at 7:45 putting my daughter to sleep. Absolutely no trouble anymore!

Yep, that's me! Before becoming a mother I used to take over the counter sleep aids when I felt desperate to sleep. Once I became a mom, I was so exhausted all the time I actually found myself striving to stay awake until DD was ready for bed. That's why I'm dissing now :teeth: DD is running around like she has a new battery in her and I need tooth picks to keep my eyelids up!

some nights I lay awake for hours. others I am asleep BEFORE my head hits the pillow.
me too.

For me it takes a long time, depending on what type of day I hae had. I also think I may have restless leg syndrome so that keeps me up some too.

a couple minutes and I am out cold! I have fallen asleep while on the computer, I fall asleep sitting in a chair at work, at the movies...during weddings...you name it, I can sleep there...even a rock concert..I can sleep there too!!....When I worked nights there were times I was so tired I had to fight from falling asleep in the car driving home!

I usually fall asleep immediately!!! (unless my cat is purring loudly right in my face!!!) :rotfl:

Forever. DH is the exact opposite--I can't tell you how many times I've found him asleep in front of the tv or computer. :rotfl:

Not only does it take me a long time to fall asleep, but many nights it feels like I never fell asleep, even though I know I had to have slept at some point. It's like a feeling of semi-conciousness all night long; does anyone know what I mean?

Me Too! It takes forever. Watching the stupid clock....ugh! Meanwhile, DH is snoring within literally 5 minutes of laying down. I just sit over here being quite jealous! How does he do it????

Since I'm usually past exhaustion when I get to bed I fall to sleep right away. Most nights I will fall asleep on the couch or chair before I get a chance to go to bed.

Long before I became a mother I worked nights because it paid more. There was one morning I sat in my driveway and wondered how I got there. I didn't remember driving home. I just sat there and I remember how much that scared me. I wracked my brain trying to remember driving past roadmarks, anything and I couldn't. I had no memory between leaving work and getting home. It was then I decided working nights was not worth the extra money.
