I always hear people say 'I fell asleep the moment I hit the pillow'.
I can't even imagine this. It takes me at least an hour, sometimes several, to fall asleep! Always had done!

On the other hand whether I'm tired or not, if I lay on BFs stomach I always fall asleep within moments.

What about everyone else???

I usually fall asleep within 5-10 minutes of going to bed. I think because I'm busy all day and I'm really tired most nights! But if DH isn't home, I cannot fall asleep at all!

I work out for two hours at the gym six days a week - So I'm asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I have the hardest time falling asleep. It takes me close to an hour. I have tried everything from reading, watching television, and just resting in the dark waiting for sleep to come.

I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. The secret to doing this is to keep your mind off anything worrysome when you go to bed. You can not allow yourself to think, plan, strategize, or worry. These mind activities lead many to restless nights. It can be hard to do this, especially if you have real problems to think about. My way is to tell myself "I'll think about it tomorrow". Sort of like Scarlett O'Hara says in Gone With the Wind.

I have to be really tired to fall asleep fast otherwise it takes about 30 minutes.
One weird thing about me is I cannot sleep without DH there but I also cannot fall asleep snuggling right up next to him. I just want to know he's there but still have my own space. :confused3

It depends on how tired I am when I lay down. Usually within a few mins.

Forever. DH is the exact opposite--I can't tell you how many times I've found him asleep in front of the tv or computer. :rotfl:

Not only does it take me a long time to fall asleep, but many nights it feels like I never fell asleep, even though I know I had to have slept at some point. It's like a feeling of semi-conciousness all night long; does anyone know what I mean?

Takes me about 5 minutes or so. I am a good sleeper.

The secret to being able to fall asleep the minute your head hits the pillow is to have a child! I used to be in the group of non-sleepers and it would take me forever to fall asleep. Now though, totally different story. Last night I fell asleep at 7:45 putting my daughter to sleep. Absolutely no trouble anymore!

some nights I lay awake for hours. others I am asleep BEFORE my head hits the pillow.

It depends how tired I am, but usually about 30 minutes. However then I tend to wake up at around 5am and then just lightly doze until my alarm at 6:30. For our next trip to WDW I wll have worked from 7:30am until around 5pm and then have to sort things out at home and leave for WDW at 4am the next day. I am hoping to sleep on the plane (9 1/2 hour flight) as I guess I will be tired but I won't be able to sleep.

My friends & family always joke that I turn into a pumpkin at midnight. I am a clock. I turn off at 11. I lay down, and I'm asleep. I have a really hard time staying up late.

My DH is the exact opposite. So it drives us both crazy. I want him in bed, and he can't even consider going to sleep until 1 or 2 am. And then it still takes him forever to fall asleep.

Usually within 15 minutes I am asleep, if I am awake for more than a half hour I read for awhile.

It takes me about an hour, as much as I try not to think about things my mind has to replay everything I did that day and what I need to do tomorrow.

Sleep is a distant memory for me. I lay awake forever. I am a habitual worrier and thats not conducive to a good nites sleep. I am going to the doctor to ask about the new drug Lunesta. Has anyone tried it?

Im one who falls asleep as soon I hit the pillow. Kids will do it to you. My youngest is almost 15 months, and still doesnt sleep all night. It makes for very long days. The baby is the last to go to bed of the kids. SO once shes in bed, I lay in bed to watch tv. That never lasts, Im asleep in less then 2 minutes most nights.
But, on the other hand, I cant nap. I try to at times when the baby is napping. For some reason, my mind raises during the day. Nightime is different. For some reason, once the last child goes to bed, I fell like Im can finally shut down.
