how early to check in to resort

I am hoping to check in to our resort really early in the am. I do not need a room then, I just want my kttk card to get us into early morning extra magic hours? Does Disney allow this?

Yep, you can check in at just about any time. I 'think' the computers are down around 4-5 am, but I'm pretty sure you aren't talking about that early!
So, go to the resort, hand over any bags you may have to Bell Services and they will store them for you, get checked in, and head off to the parks for some fun.

Thank you! I am talking about 6:30am tho! I really want to be in line by 7:30am at AK to knock out a couple of the big rides before hopping to another park. Only 2 of my party want to do AK at all and this seemed like a good way to fit it in. We will need to catch a bus at resort (POR) to get to gate of AK. I'm thinking 15-30 minutes for check in and 15-30 minutes to get over to AK? Sound about right? We actually could unload our luggage later as we are driving this trip. Now my only question is do we try and snag breakfast at resort or pick it up in AK or just starve until we get to MK!

you can check in at 6:30am - hey you might even get a room then. if not a card with a phone number to call them back - some people say if you give them your cell number they will call you.

I've checked in several times at 7:00 am or so and sometimes have gotten room and sometimes not. Either way, you can definitely check in that early.
