How Early to Book My Resort

After a lot of reading on here, we have decided that we are going to want to stay at the Kidani Village for our trip. We will be getting a 2 Bdrm. villa and a 1 Bdrm. villa as it will be my parents, my brother's family, and my family (13 total people). Would it be best for us to book our rooms early, and then switch over to a package. I know you can book your room 499 days in advance. Our main concern is that we would really like to get the two villas with Savannah views. If you book the room only far in advance and then switch to a package, are you gauanteed to have the rooms that you booked? Sorry if this is confusing and thanks for your advice.
