We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 19 yo, and two 15 yo). We’re spending 4 days at DLR and then 3 days sightseeing staying at The Garland. I have activities planned (Warner Bros tour, La Brea tar pits, etc.), but no restaurants planned. What are your recommendations. We are all adventurous and not picky eaters.

We were in Burbank this past March and had a great meal at The Smokehouse restaurant, which is across the road from Warner Bros. Studio. It's an old fashioned steak house in terms of decor and menu but it's apparently George Clooney's favourite (his production company is named after the restaurant), and was featured in a La La Land scene. The food isn't really "adventurous" but it was tasty, the cocktails were great, and we loved the historic Hollywood vibe. https://www.smokehouse1946.com/

We really liked The Garland's restaurant, the front yard! We actually ate there twice!

Assuming you have a car, Burbank is very doable. I haven't been to that specific location, but there is a Porto's Bakery in Burbank.

I took the kiddo to La Brea Tarpits and it was interesting. We didn't go to the museum though, which I suppose has the more interesting things. But the area did have a distinct smell like fresh-paved asphalt.

That day we ate at Maggiano's Little Italy at The Grove, but that's gone now. However, we followed that up with Wanderlust Creamery for ice cream, which was great.
