How early to airport-MSP??

Our flight will be leaving at 7:10 am from MSP,we will be taking a shuttle from our hotel to the airport-what time should we plan on arriving at the airport? We are flying Delta-not sure if that would make any difference!

Check Delta's website and see what their recommendation is for how early to be there.

I know that NWA recommends 90 minutes at MSP, but they have a major presence there with lots of check in counters, etc. I plan to be there 2 hours ahead for my 7:21am departure in December.

Actually, NWA is now recommending passengers arrive 75 minutes ahead of departure.

I'm also flying Delta for my late November/early December trip. On their website, Delta is estimating current "wait" time at the MSP airport as 50 minutes. Their ticket counter at MSP opens at 3:30 a.m. The security check points and curbside luggage check open at 4:00 a.m. (Can't give you a link, as the info is provided on a pop up window. To get the pop up, you click on a link for "wait time". The link is on the page for Your Itineraries).

I like to be a little earlier than necessary. FWIW, for your 7:10 a.m. flight, I would recommend you try to arrive at the airport about 5:45 a.m. if you are checking luggage. If not, then 6:00 a.m. should be plenty of time.

My experience with Delta at MSP:

Short lines as compared to Northwest...the agent I got did not know how to use his computer so it took about 15-20 minutes just to check in. I have also found that Delta flights have a tendancy to be late...at least 3 of the 4 that I've flown have been and all have been due to mechanical delays

Eeeeewww! Not good news. Have you flown Delta out of MSP fairly recently?

Well cross your fingers for me!! I hope we are not delayed as we only 40 mins to switch planes in Atlanta!! If we are delayed in the least bit we will never make our connection-I voiced our concern to delta after they made the change but they said it shouldn't be a problem-hmmmmm! Oh well at least there is a ton of delta flights out of ATL if we do miss ours but I really hope that doesn't happen.

last time we flew Delta out of MSP and transfered in ATL we were late getting in and they had to hold the 2nd plane for us. And since they wanted to get going they put us in the 1st row of 1st class. Of course I had to have some drinks then.
