How early should we get to the park?

Hi, I have a friend who will be visiting the parks for 1 day tomorrow. Do they typically open at the posted opening time or do they drop the rope earlier? Any tips on getting the biggest bang out of 1 day would be greatly appreciated! She is there with her grandkids and only has the 1 day open. Thanks in advance!

She should be getting dropped off or parking her car about an hour before opening. That'll give time for security and ticketing and walking.

There are signs up in the park that post estimate wait times for rides

it is updated constantly

going early is beneficial
When I used to rent a car, found the earlier I went, the quicker I could park in the park garage
