How early should a trip be booked?

I'm starting to look at a trip the first week of December and getting pretty close to the same prices from multiple outlets. I'm wondering though if I should go ahead and book or wait because of specials or such? Is there a set timeframe that people feel you get the best value?

We always book like 9 months ahead make payments to the agent instead of making one big payment. Book now and keep ur agent looking for deals on the vacation till u leave u might find a better deal in a month or so if ur agent keeps checking for u.

Absolutely book as soon as you know your dates. You can book a room only through CRO and hope a deal comes out later.
We have used Small World Vacations (WDWVacations.com) for our last trips that we found on mousesaver.com. They keep looking for deals and codes right up until your trip. Two years ago after they got us an initial AAA discount two better deals came out. They asked us for our permission to change the original reservation both times and finally ended up saving us $800.00.
Great service and great people. They also made all our dining reservations for us. Can't beat it since it's FREE!
Check them out for a free, no-obligation price quote.

Appreciate the input, I'm going to get busy and start getting things worked out.

I lucked out this year and happened to catch the flight I wanted on a Sunday morning. I got 5 direct non-stop tickets at $260 a piece. Since then they haven't been under $800. So glad I took out my credit card that morning.

The rest of the trip is just falling into place. Booked CBR for 7 nights. Now I have 9 months to plan the days and how to surprise my kids Christmas day...........no warning or planning for them.....We're going to disney, hurry we have 12 hrs to pack.... :yay:

We have a suprise December trip booked too!

I would book soon if I were you. I went through Magicforless and if a discount comes out later they will apply it to my reservation. They will also make ADRs for me. I would rather just book it and have it secured. Then as others mentioned you can make payments each month and it is not so hard on the pocketbook either.

And yes airfare is skyrocketing it seems for December. I booked ours already too and was happy to get $177 non stop, round trip from Boston but now when I look they are scary high.
