I'm planning a long weekend next August for my birthday, as well as a week long trip Columbus Week next October.

Can (or better yet should) I book reservations now? I have an AP and know I'll have to wait for AP discounts, but can I book using AAA for now? Are these months value or regular seasons?

according to waltdisneyworld.com here are the 2005 season dates:

2005 Seasons

Value Season: 1/1 - 2/16, 7/5 - 10/4, 11/27 - 12/19
Regular Season: 4/17 - 7/4, 10/5 - 11/26
Peak Season: 2/17 - 4/16
Holiday Season: 12/20 - 12/31

what i do is book what i can get at the hotel of my choice for starters...get the AAA rate if you can and then later if another rate becomes available you can try for it right away to switch over.

Keep your eyes on the boards as your travel date gets closer, check often so that when the better rates come out you can pounce on em!

have fun planning! :)

We book all our trips atleast 6 months or longer in advance, they dont care, and plus you can make payments towards it so if you dont get that AP discount, it wont sting as bad since it will most likely have been paid for well in advance.

:(

I usually travel the first or second weekend in Nov... Looks like next year it will be the Regular Season instead of the Value Season... That means it will cost me more next year... :( :(

If you are doing room only the 2005 AAA rates are not out yet; so you would be booking at rack rate to start. It's a little painful at first to look at! We have our DU quotes and probably will still go ahead and book now for our September 2005 trip. I know they will apply the codes or discounts as they become available.

Hi! Do you mean that AAA rates often apply at WDW? It was my understanding that they never did, or maybe it's just during peak? We're planning our spring break also, and wondered about reserving this far in advance?

LOVE this forum! Thanks to all for the great info!

We just booked the Caribbean Beach Resort again for next August. Have booked all our Disney Vacations close to a year in advance. Gives us our choice of Hotels (Grand Gathering w/ parents and in-laws), and lets us pay a little at a time.

Yes,you can get AAA rates at WDW resorts if they are available. Like all discounted rooms they only have so many reserved with that pricing. When they are gone (reserved) there are no more unless there is a cancelation.

I highly recommend DU! This is my first time using them. Sue Ellen has been great so far. She is saving me so much time and work! No more being on hold forever for anything! I love it!
