DD is turning 10 January 15. We will be visiting in December 27-31. I know they do not verify or anything but how early is too early for you to celebrate your bday?

Was thinking of doing ordering the birthday gift bag to be at the hotel when we arrive.

What are the perks of celebrating? Any perks i should be aware of?

You can celebrate whenever you'd like. There's no rule. Pick up a pin and wear it proudly. Don't expect more than a "Happy Birthday" from CMs though. You MIGHT get pixie dust, like a free treat at a restaurant or from a cart, but you should go in with no expectations and be pleasantly surprised at whatever happens.

Definitely get the pin and celebrate! We’ve gone the last 2 years about a month after my DD’s birthday and she wore her pin. She was showered with Happy Birthdays and got a few free birthday cupcakes and even a birthday beignet from Cafe Orleans!

It doesn’t matter. If you’re celebrating, you’re celebrating.

Also make sure the birthday girl doesn’t mind being told happy birthday by all sorts of people. It bothers my son (and me), so we don’t tend to celebrate on days other than our actual bdays. My husband on the other hand would accept HB 365 days a year.

Birthday Girl would loooove the attention so would DH but I would not. I. would be totally embarrassed where DD and DH would be delighted.

Im going to go ahead and order the a birthday gift basket to be in the room when we arrive.

Absolutely not too early!! Party away!! ... My rule of thumb is approx 1 month with extensions available if it's a big trip and you're gonna fall within a couple weeks of the month long window.

We are doing something similar with DD. Her birthday is March 20th, but our trip is the 3-11th of that month. She is picking which day(s) she wants to celebrate and get her pin. I say if it makes her feel special, then go for it.

Double digit birthday, make it special for as long as possible. Pick up a pin at guest services and wear it proudly. Gift bag will be a nice touch. On the card I asked for the gift to be from Mickey and Minnie.

I saw a Birthday gift with ears and pin that can be delivered to the room. I am definitely going to buy this.I can already picture it she will be soo overjoyed especially if its from mickey and Minnie.

When at Disneyland, my general motto is, "Birthday celebrations should happen within 6 months before or after a birthday." Seems reasonable :)

My motto is that you have to be celebrating the bday. :)

If you’re just in it for the button or the possibility of a free cupcake or something, then it’s not *celebrating*.

And I mentioned the bit earlier about being prepared for bday greetings because some people notice buttons and say HB, and to have that replied to with a big long story of “oh it’s not my actual bday” etc etc just isn’t needed. :):) People saying HB don’t need the whole story. :)

(My son and I have been the “big long story” people, and we’ve seen peoples’ reactions to it. Dh has been on the receiving end of the big long story and we’ve seen his reaction to it. That’s partially how DS and I decided that we’re not “buttons the whole trip” people, because we tend to “big long story” people who are just being sweet.

It’s not too early at all! What a fantastic way to celebrate her birthday and also add a little extra special feel to your trip!

DH and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at Disneyland this summer. The trip was about 2 months before our actual anniversary, but it’s when we were able to sneak away on a no-kids trip. It was a special memory making trip and I’ll always remember that we celebrated our 25th at Disneyland even if it was a little earlier than the actual date.

Getting to Disneyland ON an actual birthday isn't always feasible, so if you have decided that the trip is to celebrate a birthday, then enjoy your celebration!
