My trip is in 3 weeks from yesterday and I keep wanting to start packing! I know that sounds ridiculous but time is flying by so fast that I'm scared if I don't start early then I'll forget a bunch of stuff!! *Disney brain*

So am I crazy? How long in advance do YOU start packing?

I started about 2 weeks before but havent touched it since.... now I have a huge to do list, we leave friday and I still can't seem to get my butt in gear!

You mean I have to unpack when I come back LOL. I normally store a few things away and a few weeks prior to our trip I put some outfits away but I normally back the weekend before.

It depends. If we're going in the winter I can pack earlier because we aren't using our summer stuff at home.
I generally start packing the things we aren't using a few weeks out. The ponchos, umbrellas, water bottles etc.
But the bulk of our packing gets done 3 or 4 days ahead of time. I don't like to rush around like crazy the night before a trip. Always seems like I end up doing it anyway though. There's so much else to take care of even if the packing is done!

Oh I am awful when it comes to packing for any trip, and it doesn't even matter if it's for a week at Disney! I will have a little checklist made up WEEKS in advance of our trip, but I won't pack a thing until the night before. I always regret it, but if I try to pack ahead of time, I will undoubtedly forget something important. It never fails! So, procrastination pays off - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The last trip we took was for two weeks. Actually, we were gone for 16 days total. The first four days were at a wedding a 7 hour drive away. So we needed (for a family of four) all the clothes/shoes/hair stuff/make up/accessories for 2 rehearsals and a wedding. We also picked up all the wedding favours which were chocolate, and put them in coolers in the back seat with the kids, with out two weeks of luggage for Disney in the trunk and drove the seven hours. We left directly from the wedding weekend and left the country to catch a flight.
And somehow drove our Chevy Cobalt with all this stuff!!!!!! Oh and my husband had exams and I worked right up until the hour we left for this extravaganza :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

On the way home our seven year old got appendicitis and we ended up at the hospital for two weeks in shifts after his emergency surgery.

I have never had a more stressful vacation in my life. And yet somehow.. I managed to not forget anything:rotfl::rotfl:

We have never done a trip like this before and we are looking at starting about 2 weeks prior to leaving. At least with the little things and making the list of items we need.

I need to get on the ball and start thinking about packing and what the weather will be like.

We are 31 days out and I really want to get started.

It's cold here, so the things I'll need in Florida I won't need here.

We leave in 21 days and I think I will get my Mickey Mouse suitcase from the basement tomorrow!! I will start to pack in a few days! :cool1:

I am going at the beginning of May and I have a couple things packed already. It is mostly summer things that we cant wear now anyway, so it is not a huge deal. I always go through the things I have packed as the trip gets closer, but the suitcase is already on my bedroom floor with things in it!!!:goodvibes

I've already got a "Disney Pile" going on downstairs... I bought some sun tan lotion, a battery powered spray fan, and a few other small things when I noticed them on sale. So, they're basically chilling out until I pull out the suitcase... which will probably be 2 days before we actually leave. I am the queen of checklists, and will probably have that done a few weeks ahead of time (so I can keep adding to it if I need to). I rarely forget anything.

My fiance, on the other hand, will probably start packing 20 minutes before we go to bed the night before we leave. :rotfl2:
