How early do you have to arrive for ADRs?

Some of my ADRs are on the earliest end of when we'd like to eat. I'm not trying to show up late and artificially make my ADR later, but I have no desire to get seated early. Am I at risk of losing my table if I show up right on time vs 15-20 minutes early?

Don't check in early if you don't want to sit early. I wouldn't show up late either though. Check in right on time, and most likely you will wait a little. Some places you will still wait a while depending on if they got behind. But there is no reason to get there early if you don't want to.

I think their use of the term "reservation" is a bit misleading. At any restaurant you go to a reservation is a set time to be seated. At Disney it seems to be the time you can be put in a que for a table. It's interesting that when you look at your MDE itinerary it says "arrive at" not "reservation for". They clearly don't expect you to be seated at that time.

Anyway, as wdw4fram said, no need to arrive any earlier but definitely try not to be more than 10 minutes late.

Disney asks guests to arrive about 15 minutes early for their ADR so that you stand the best chance of being seated at your ADR time. You can wait until closer to your ADR time to check-in and you should still be fine. As long as you check in by the time of your ADR I highly doubt you'd lose it. On the other hand, the restaurants have no set grace period, so I would not count on being able to arrive late and still be seated in a timely manner.

This. In addition if you show up too late you risk not being seated, and having to pay the no show fee.

Do they really ask you to arrive 15minutes early? I haven't seen that before. On my itinerary page on MDE it says "arrive at" then my ADR time but doesn't say anything about getting there early. Thanks!
