Very last minute question ... we leave on Saturday!

We have the Behind the Steam Trains tour scheduled for next week.
It begins at 7:30 am. Magic Kingdom opens at 9 am that day.

# 1 Will we be able to get a bus from POP to Magic Kingdom?
# 2 How early should we leave to make it in time?

THANK YOU!!

ps. There are a lot of us going so grabbing a taxi isn't going to be the most economical thing (we'd need atleast 3 or 4!).

Yes you should be able to get a bus from your resort. When you check in just double check it. Disney is really good about getting people around even before the parks open. Enjoy

We just took that tour over the weekend. When I made the reservation, the CM on the phone told me that we had to take a cab to the MK, that there was no other way to get there that early. Boy was she wrong. Not only was the monorail running (I think the resort monorail), but the cabs can only drop you off at the TTC. We talked the cab driver into taking us to the Contemporary and walked from there. The worst part was that we paid $25 for a cab ride from the AKL instead of driving ourselves to the TTC and taking the monorail!!!

So, if you can get to the TTC, you'll be able to take the monorail. I would ask at your resort if the buses are running that early. If not, then you'd have to drive or take a cab to the TTC.

Oh, and while they tell you that you absolutely have to be there at 7:15 or they will leave without you...well, our tour guide waited til after 7:30 (maybe closer to 7:45) for some people that were late getting there.

Good luck! And prepare for cold! It was very cold that early in the morning this weekend!

ETA: There are van cabs...so if you have to take a cab, you could at least get one of the vans and cut down on the number of cars you'd need. They were pretty close to the same price as the car (at least it seemed so).

We've always been told buses start running an hour before the parks open, but you should definitely double check!
