How early can we get off the boat?

We do express walk off even with our kids and we love it. Being a proficient packer helps with this! One rolling suitcase per family member makes life much easier! :thumbsup2

we just got off the dream on Monday and we did not do expess walk off but we managed to get off the boat around 7:25 and got our luggage, went through customs and were in the car by 7:38. there were porters to help with the bags at the bottom of the escalators...

Just to clarify things - there is no "express walk off" on DCL, unlike other cruise lines. That term typically (on other cruise lines) means those people who want to be first off with their luggage due to various reasons. They usually have to debark before anyone else, who is not handling their own bags.

On DCL, you will get a baggage tag that corresponds to a specific baggage claim area in the terminal (talking about Port Canaveral here). Anyone not wishing for DCL to take their bags off the ship for them can debark at any time. Anyone can debark at any time after the doors have opened (generally around 7:30).

In some other ports the baggage tag is also assigned a specific time to debark (so as not to fill up the baggage claim area in the terminal).

I wouldn't try to do the express walk off if you have as much luggage as we had for our first cruise in 2007.
