How early can we get into Magic Kingdom today 7/31?

My toddler woke up early so we are ready to go now at 7:30. We are at the Grand Floridian, is the monorail running now? The park hours say 9am with early entry at 8:30. I don’t want to get there if we have to stand in a long line at the gate though.

Also are the characters meeting that early?
