Anyone know how early we can get into the area in between to parks? If we aren't staying at a Disney hotel, can we get into the the main waiting area in between the parks during extra magic hour? Does security look for a hotel card during that time? Thanks!

I believe Starbucks on DtD opens at 5 a.m., so that's my best guess :) As soon as security is open and you've passed through, you are good to be in the esplanade area. They don't check for room cards until you're entering the park.

You can absolutely get to the esplanade during EMH. In fact, lots of people will already be lining up for regular park opening by then already.

Does the Harbor side open at 5am also? Even if the parks don't open until 9 or 10?

I haven't been since they moved the security to the outskirts of DTD. I know before it was one hour before park opening or 30 minutes before EE on EE Days.

But if it's like it has been in the past, don't settle in If the security CMs aren't there yet. If you don't have security CMs checking you, they'll be clearing the esplanade and you'll end up behind everyone who waited. So if there are no CMs, just wait.
