How early can I add my tickets to the app?

We just purchased our e-tickets from UT for our upcoming trip in April. Is there any reason I shouldn't link them to the app now, or should I wait until we are closer to the actual dates we are going? Either way I plan on printing them and bringing them as a back up in case there is an issue with the app.

When you buys from Disney they show up right away on your app so I can’t see why you’d have to wait.

No reason not to add them now. I just bought from UT also and had no problems scanning them.

I just purchased from UT, and added them immediately as well , no issues .
Will also bring the paper copies, but it will prob not be necessary , since they are already on the app now .

Add them now , so you can start learning how the ROTR boarding process works from home before you get to the parks .

Make sure you assign them properly when adding them . The app may want to put every ticket in the purchasers name as default . That happened to me , so I was glad I was paying attention while adding the tickets on the app ! Had to change the pre-populated names !

So how does this work once you get to DL? You have them in the APP, but how do you get the paper-card tickets? Do you have to go to the ticket booth or do they print them for you right at the gate?

You just scan through with them in your app at the gate. They take your picture, give you the ticket, sometimes get you to sign. Off you go. It’s really quite fast!

At your first gate entry, they take your picture right then and there , and hand you a paper ticket .

After you go through the gate and receive your paper ticket, the app will automatically change the number, so you won't have to do it. Also, after everyone gets their paper tickets, take a moment to take a photo of the back of each ticket with a clear image of the barcode and numbers. Email those photos to yourself (and maybe to one other trusted person). If the tickets get lost/stolen/destroyed by accident, you'll be able to take the photos to Guest Services and receive replacements easily and quickly. And keep your paper tickets in a safe, waterproof place. We have had rare reports of the app eating tickets, so there is a small chance that you might have to re-scan at some point.

I bought my tickets from UT and added them to the app as soon as I got them. My trip is also in April.
