How drunk can you get in Epcot?

Me either. Too busy havin' fun and mindin' my own business. :cool1:

In 2007 we had dinner at The Biergarten. My husband didn't realize how much beer was in those beer steins! Well..by the time we left the restaurant he was drunk. I mean really drunk. (He rarely drinks normally) I thought oh man we should leave the park so we started to head for the international gateway. Well....nature called and we stopped at Morocco. He came out of the restroom soaked with water. The dummy forgot to unzip let's say and made a mess. UGH. So the drunk genius thought he should splash water all over himself so it would look like he came off a water ride! OMG...what an idiot. I guess in his drunken state he forgot that there are no water rides in Epcot! We quickly made our way to the exit...drunk hubby in tow.

Sure there is. There's one in Norway and one in Mexico but on second thought you'd have to be pretty drunk to get wet on either one. :lmao:

I have a few questions. I have heard about the Beers Around the World "challenge" - 1 beer from every country in Epcot.

I am not a big "adventurer" when it comes to new beer. I have my favorite, then my tolerables. With that said, I still would like to try the BAtW but I would prefer not to be inebriated in front of my kids.

Has anyone found a way around that? Do you think the countries would give a taste of their beer?

If not how much do you think it would run me to do all 11 countries. Thanks

I have been incredibly drunk in Epcot twice. Once was a spur of the moment decision to join friends in drinking around the world back in March. I only did half and was stumbling out of the International Gateway.

More recently I went to meet friends who were drinking around the world. I didn't have the intention of drinking much, and I didn't actually have enough to get drunk on a normal day. Unfortunately, that day I had only had 2 egg rolls at AK and a slice of cake from Babycakes NYC before I went and had 3 drinks in Epcot. I was really feeling it after the second drink and should have stopped there, but I was having a good time and decided to have one more drink.

My only mistake with both times that I got drunk in Epcot was that each time it was my last night there. My next trip, my mom will be there so I won't be getting drunk this time!

I've completed Drinking Around The World 3 times, and each time my tolerance seems to grow a bit. The first time I really don't remember much after getting the last beer. The 2nd time I remember leaving the park, but not specifics (which led to a surprise the next morning when I saw I had bought a nice and pricey Epcot jacket on my way out of the park). 3rd time I remember everything.

Heres a few tips:

-start in Canada, not in Mexico. Just found that route to be a more fun way around the world.

-eat along the way. It'll help. A lot.

-The best drink in ALL of the World Showcase is in China. Its called The Canto Loopy (Vodka/Cantolope Juice)

-If you don't hold your liquor well, or are a loud, obnoxious drunk, do NOT attempt this. Disney Security are like hawks regarding this to begin with, add to the fact that you may be loud and obnoxious will only draw them to you faster.

-last, but not least. Do yourself the favor: Once you finish your last drink, watch Illuminations. Its amazing.

Well last time I got drunk was last night and I fell in a puddle and woke up frozen to the ground(I live in Canada). I had to take my pants off, they were frozen to the ground and walk home in my underwear.

I would call that not to drunk just a good time.

Also being from Canada, I would call that bull. However, if somehow this happened to you without dying from exposure, if you were that wasted that you woke up in a puddle, I really doubt that it was a puddle of water. :rolleyes1

I guess everyone needs a hobby :confused3

I guess i'll need to set aside a few bucks and several hours one night this upcoming trip to "research" this.

:rolleyes1

it'll run you about $90-100 and take about 3-4 hours.

Figured it wouldn't be cheap. Probably wouldn't be wise for an early start to the next day afterwards either. Probably would be helpful too if it were on a trip where you stayed in an Epcot resort. Thanks for the costs analysis!

No problem!

I've never stayed in any of the Epcot resorts, but never had any problems getting back to the hotel or anything.

Naturally, having an easy day to follow this would be smart. Hungover Disney is not fun, trust me on that.

I agree with previous posters who warn NOT to start in Mexico.

Heck, if I tried to drink around the world, I could be totally blotto before I even got out of the pyramid, what with the tequila in the Cava, margaritas at the Cantina, and beers in the restaurants...

My issue is less with starting in Mexico, but the ending in Canada. Both times I've ended in Canada, I've had nothing but problems. Ending in Mexico was smooth sailing.

I agree with most of what has been posted. Bottom line is that it is the same as in most any other situation. If you are not belligerent and can actually complete the order, you should be ok. :) But I also echo a previous poster: why waste your money like that? There are much cheaper ways/places to get your drink on. ;)

I'm no stranger to Spritus Fermenti, but having only an average of 10 park days per year at WDW forces me to choose not to ruin a day by over indulging to the point that I don't even remember having a good day in the firat place. Over the years we've developed the strategy of hitting a non-Epcot park at ropedrop, touring, sober, until crowds build, then hopping to WS where we start at the 'ride' shown below. Our 'Around the World' sessions get spread out over 2 or more days and there is no 'Morning After' for us.

You can get drunk at Epcot. While they limit you to buying 2 drinks at a time at the walk up kiosks, it doesn't stop anyone from going from one country/restaurant/bar to another one. Just remember the you are walking a lot and needing a lot more food, especially to round out the liquor. And yes, there are even spots that let you do shots (like tequila at La Cava) so you can get drunk fast too. And like many others on this thread, I have also seen some very drunk people at Epcot (and some not so nice piles of vomit). So be careful, the drinks do sneak up on you, especially if you are not used to the high alcohol content (for example, in a German beer).
