How dressed up do the kids have to be for dinner?

My boys are 5 and 1.5, we will be on the 4day Wonder, can they wear jeans or nice chino shorts if they have a nice polo shirt? I have nice khakis and ties for them to wear to Tritons, but not sure about the other nights. They could wear the same pants again, if nothing happens to them. And they both have tan cords I could bring, too. But that's it. Which would be better, navy chino shorts or jeans with a nice shirt? Or will both be frowned upon?

Thanks for your time! It's finally sunny in So Cal!! :sunny:

We had our three year old in khakis and a button down shirt with sandels and he was perfect. There is a HUGE range of dress at dinner and it's really nice because you never feel out of place. I brought Spence a couple pairs of khakis and we washed them mid trip (It was a 7 day cruise) and it worked out great!

I suggest the shorts over the jeans. I dressed my little guy in nice khaki shorts and a polo (sometimes a vest, too) for a couple dinners and he was fine.

kids are more acceptable in shorts at dinner than adults. I would do the khaki shorts over the jeans too. Our girls wore just little casual sundresses or shorts outfits. Our 2 1/2 yo we brought to the club after she ate while we waited for our food so IMHO there was not need to really "dress" her up for dinner except for the semi and formal nights.

Just so you know, it says in the navigator "We kindly request that no shorts or jeans be worn in any of our dining rooms during dinner"

We have been on two Disney cruises and going on our third in April. I have two boys, 9 and 4, and we have always dressed them in nice shorts with a polo top and sometimes sweater vest for dinner. That is what I am planning for the third cruise, also. Nice shorts with polos tucked in and a belt would be very appropriate for boys, along with sandals. That way, if you want to take them to the kid's club afterward, then you don't have to worry about them playing in their pants - my boys would have a fit if I took them in their dress pants to the club. Just my thoughts. :teeth:
