We only used a shuttle from MCO once, several years ago, and I can't recall how it works. We are flying into West Palm Beach Airport, and taking DD1, so we will have to schlep several pieces of luggage, bags, car seat, and stroller. I can't imagine we will be able to carry all our stuff to the shuttle bus by hand, while wheeling DD. Can you use the cart from the airport to bring the luggage to the bus? I would think it would be worth the 2. for the cart, so as not to make several trips from the rental counter to the shuttle bus area. Or do we have to pay a skycap type person to do this? I would think that would cost much more. In the West Palm Beach airport, National is not on site. Is there a limit on the amount of bags you can bring on the shuttle? Do they store them in a compartment at the bottom of the bus? TIA!

You can take the smart carts to the shuttle, you cannot take them on the shuttle. You can also tip a skycap to take the baggage to the shuttle. They have racks in the shuttle for the luggage, and there is no limit.

You have to put it there yourself. The driver will not help you.

I've been on many shuttles where it's a true cattle car. People are pushing & rushing to get on.

Good luck,

The driver will not help you.

That's not true on all shuttles, I've had lots of drivers help me. At Hertz, they literally insist on taking your luggage.

You can of course rent a cart and bring it right up to the curb where you'll get the bus. But the porters at PBI are really great, and for $5, you'll get an extra set of hands. I always used them when DD was little. (Both my folks live in proximity to PBI, as did my grandparents, so I've been using that airport since '73. Love it!)

I would have one of you go on the shuttle, and the other wait with your child. I should only be at most 20 minutes until you can return with the car, and pick up the family and all your 'stuff'.

you will be responsible for getting your luggage to the rental car shuttle. You may use a smarte cart or a sky cap. The shuttle driver may or may not help you load your stuff on the shuttle bus. There is no under storage. It is like a mini bus usually. All luggage goes in the passenger hold. If the shuttle is not right at the curb, the sky cap may just unload your luggage on the curb and move on. your best bet is to rent a smarte cart.
