How Does WL compare with AKL? I don't know which resort to choose . . .!

HELP ! ! ! !

Last year we stayed at AKL for 2 nights . . . this year we want to stay onsite again for a couple of nights during our October trip.

Problem is . . . . I can't decide where and as it's going to be a surprise for my DH and DD, I can't ask them. We are also staying at HRH, for our Universal park days.

Last year, AKL was fantastic. We had nothing really to compare it with since we'd not stayed onsite before. Love to stay there again, but for convenience maybe another resort would be better.

We will be at MNSSHP Sunday night and my plan is to spend either the Sunday/Monday or Sat/Sun nights at a Disney resort, with the Sunday being used for a relaxing day, may be a trip to Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours.

Anyone's views on WL - or any other resorts suitable - would really be most appreciated

WL will be a lot closer to the MK for the party... And the theme inside and out is very relaxing... You seem to get more day guests at AKL than WL now... Besides you can do more at WL with the boat rentals and such.

WL is where we stayed for our first time onsite and as you can see by my trip list below, it is the only place we care to stay. It is very relaxing and as stated, very close to MK and easy to get there. The boats are a relaxing ride over and you can even take a boat to CR and catch the monorail. You have the mouse boats for rent as well as pontoons. And you have a chance to see the EWP from your balcony or the beach.

Hi, we just returned from a great trip. We stayed at both the AKL and the WL. We had never been to either before, and the AKL was not planned, we just walked up to the front desk and got an incredible rate on a savannah view room. After staying at both resorts my husband wished we had stayed both nights at the AKL, but the WL was very convienent to get to the MK because of the ferry. We also had a blast using the water mice, and if we had planned more we would have taken a fishing trip also. The pool is not as big at the WL but it is beautifully landscaped with waterfalls and brooks. It is a tough choice. If you want to experience a different resort, WL would be a great choice and it is somewhat similar to AKL since the same architect designed both resorts. The pool at WL did seem more relaxing as some other people have noted. Of all the choices we have to make in life, this is one of the good ones!!

I've stayed at both, and while AKL is a lot of fun, I prefer WL. I love being able to take the boat to the MK, and catching the electrical water pagent at night.

AKL! all the way. We have stayed at AKL and Wl. Also have stayed at many other WDW resorts. So far AKL is favorite resort on property! Its a very unique resort. I would go with akl!
