How does Waitlist computer assign villas

Does the system assign a villa the instant it becomes available (due to cancellation or re-assignment), or does it do assignments overnight while MS is closed?
 
I don't know if anyone knows for sure and MS gives me a different answer every time I ask. Some Members report that their match magically happens when they call to check on their wait-list.

I have actually talked to a MS person whose job is to work on the wait lists, so not all matches are done as advertised by computer.
 
Waitlists are done at the end of the day. This being said, when I have been on waitlists, I have literally called EVERYDAY and 9 times out of 10 someone has just cancelled and they assign it to me.

Three reps have told me that if any cancellations are still listed at the end of each work day, then they are assigned to the people on the waitlist.

I know it is a pain to call everyday, but I did it from February - April and went from 2 studios at Boardwalk to a 2 bedroom at Kidani village by changing and it worked. My first was a change from Boardwalk to AK just so I'd at least have the resort I wanted and then from Jambo to Kidani, so it can be done.

Do you call and ask them to check on your waitlist? or do you ask them for the availability at yout WL resort? :confused:

I have a waitlist for Dec, I've read it sometimes pays to call, but I'm not sure what to ask for.

I call and ask them to check to be sure I am still on the waitlist and then if they say yes, then say "could you just check and see if any cancellations have come in today?"

Two things get accomplished here. First, you are sure that your waistlist is STILL listed - mine disappeared one time. And second, you are seeing if something has just popped up while you are on the phone so they could slip you into that new open spot.

I am also waiting for 2 nights at BLT in August. It is opening week so not looking to good.

However, I am calling every day to see if anything has changed. Matter of fact, today when I called they told me one of my WL's had been deactivated so I made sure they put it back in.

Anyway, availability changes by the minute so calling each day can help.
