How does vandalism and looting accomplish anything???

He's trying his best to get the riots started again...I saw him on MNSBC this morning, he was saying that the violence might not be over. He says that when the thug's friends see him in the casket, it could well ignite violence again.

Interesting. Yet, not one peep from him when it comes to gang murders of dozens of African Americans including children that are murdered every day. NOTHING! Oh wait, that's black on black crime. That will not fuel any riots. Whoops. No, he loves the lime light of race baiting. Google the riots in NYC 20 years ago! He's a real gem. And he isn't a REVEREND either! Why he hides behind that cloth is disgusting. A true man of God would never do such things.

This was a HUGE man though, look at the video from the store, he towered over the clerk and was close to 300lbs.

Very few people can subdue a strong 300lb person without help.

Just about anyone can be taught to subdue someone larger than they are with training. And also, do we expect that our cops are only supposed to subdue small women and children, and just kill grown men?

He was unarmed. The police should be well trained in how to protect themselves without using LETHAL force. That's their job. Not to just run around killing people that are unarmed and resisting. Heck, our military members are taught that same thing, how to disarm someone without using lethal force. I know for a fact that my husband was taught how to disarm someone while he had his hands tied behind his back, amongst other hand to hand combat techniques. The goal is to keep you safe without causing casualties. This isn't exactly unheard of.

An interesting article about police brutality in Ferguson. Trigger warning, there are graphic pictures.

You touch a cops gun then you should expect to get shot. Sorry.

Why do you defend the right of this thug to allegedly attack the police officer, but you don't defend the right of the police officer to protect himself from the thug?

Oh my gosh. What are you talking about. Your keep saying that cops are going around killing people. When you fight with the police and try to steal their weapons you are going to get shot. The police officer was defending himself from a thug. Life or death situation.

That's not what I said. I said they should not be able to just use lethal force willy nilly. Even if they are resisting arrest, the cops are not hired to execute people. They should use non-lethal means to protect themselves and arrest the individual so the courts can take care of it. That is what our justice system is founded on, not street justice.

I'm off to go an enjoy my Friday with the fam.

It seems some posters would rather have cops just shooting people instead of arresting them. Go back a few pages and you'll easily find those posts.

Everything is not black and white. Of course police can protect themselves. But I have serious issues when they are using lethal force on someone who is unarmed. I don't really care what the person's history is, how much of a "thug" they are, or so on. Deadly force should be the absolutely last resort. The officer should feel that his or her life itself is in danger, not just annoyed that someone is physically resisting. We are talking about people's lives here. Maybe to some people not all lives are worth the same. Maybe if you have a criminal history, or are black, or poor your life is more disposable than others. I just don't feel that way.

You've never heard of them, and yet you are sure they are very biased. OK.

All I did was read the articles and I read the biased political section. YES, VERY BIASED. Thanks but no thanks!

And how do you know the officer didn't feel that his life was in danger?

You don't.

Really? I must have missed those posts. Your saying that some posters would rather have cops just um "shooting" people, no particular reason, they (the cops) just want to shoot people. The hyperbole is even more astounding! It's nearly laughable.

For the UMPTEENTH TIME, the perp tried to grab the cops GUN! What is it that you just don't understand? :confused3

This is only true to a certain extent, but at a certain point size can't be overcome. Back in the early days of the UFC before weight classes it was about 50/50 when a normal sized (175-200lb) professional fighter would step in the cage with a 300+lb street fighter.

These were the highest trained black belts in Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Kempo, etc in the world and they had about a 50/50 chance of beating a huge guy who just walked in off the street and registered for fun.

A normal cop has no chance against a guy this size one on one and it's unrealistic to expect all officers to have 15 years of the training required to even stand a chance against these guys.

You must have missed the posts then. They are there. Posters absolutely said police should just shoot people instead of arresting them. Nothing in my quote says the cops just want to shoot people instead of arresting them. Of course I'm sure you added that so someone else can quote you and then it will appear I actually said that. That's how things go on these threads.

Where's the proof he touched the cops gun?

Because the cop who killed him said so? Cops are above lying?

I can't believe how many people just accept whatever the cops say. Police can lie, especially to protect their own. Cops overreacting is sadly common, especially when it's a white cop and a non-white suspect.

So your assertion is that the cop was "over-reacting?

It's all in the memo...the police are supposed to let people assault them, steal their guns, shoot at them, throw Molotov cocktails at them, etc. And if they do anything in response, they're in the wrong.

As I said earlier, it the police are the problem, then the Ferguson police department should walk away and let the town burn.
That's why, there were no arrests last night....cops were told not to respond to calls.

The store clerk lied and law enforcement lied. It's all about stalking a little boy...minding his own business, while walking down the street. The white racist gunning him down in cold blood...

Same old story.

This is what is so frightening to me. I am by no means the doomsayer...but recently where I live a former member of the coast guard who was home and out for a couple drinks was beaten and shoved down a flight of stairs by the bar manager and two off-duty police officers that were moonlighting as bouncers.

After the altercation they handcuffed him and dragged him out to the street and left him there handcuffed and unconscious. they then went inside and pulled the surveillance tapes and tossed it in a dumpster to destroy the video evidence.

This article from HuffPost makes you think about race relations in this country and the double standard that exists. (whether you believe it does or not)
