I'm not aware of any other timeshares using points with expiring RTU. The main history on RTU expiring is with the Royal resorts and given they were fixed weeks in MX, I'm not sure there's any info that can be extracted there. I doubt DVC can tell you what will happen or that they've even made specific decisions though I'm sure it's been discussed in general terms. If they extend the 2042 resorts, it will simplify the issue some but add other nuances. I'm sure they'll make decisions and then make an announcement somewhere around 3-5 years out depending on specifics. They may do it in stages and they may give options. If they limit banking, something they really have to do, they'll need to announce it by 3 years out. If they give a voluntary opt our or use a lottery, they'll also need to announce that by around 3 year out as well. Now if they decide to extend or to resell them in some way, that gives other opportunities for the transition to those that decide to participate. I know there are some who feel they'll be gone or too old to care but the reality is that most every contract will belong to someone who does care.Have there been any other timeshare companies using a point system with expiring leases? If so, how have those been handled?
